Now that¹s sour!

Like all kids, Noah and Olivia love candy. We don’t feel too bad about giving them an occasional “Ice Breakers Sour”, since they’re sugar free and don’t get their hands all sticky.

This evening, on the way home after dinner with Grandma and Papa (who are in town for a short visit), I handed Noah and Olivia each a piece of candy. No less than a minute later, Noah started screaming. We soon learned that he had decided to “hide” his candy for later – IN HIS NOSE!

Of course, I thought that we should go to the ER to have Noah ‘de-candied’, since it was not visible at all, and vigorous blowing didn’t help at all, but cooler heads prevailed (thanks, Grandma Charla!) and we decided that we could allow the candy to, uh, dissolve.

After we came home, Noah calmed down quite a bit, and the crisis seems to have passed. (For our bedtime reading tonight, we got out our book “The Holes in Your Nose” which reminds us that ‘your nose is not a pocket, so don’t put anything in it!’ Hopefully Noah will remember that.)
